Dare to be volunteer!
Hi, I'm writing from the beautiful city of Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, with the joy of being able to share an enriching experience that is transforming my life.
Imagine living in an unusual place, absolutely extraordinary, where the time fly, where you can see more than 60 daily smiles that make your day happy, a place where you have to exploit your imagination to the fullest and the same environment forces you to have fun while learning.
Would it be wonderful, right? This magnificent place is Casa Hogar de los Pequeños San Jose, where I'm working as a volunteer. Since I arrived here in August 2010, I discovered that the greatest treasure that owns this place are their children.
Casa Hogar is a lasallian institution serving over 60 children between 6 and 18 years old who undergo severe family problems. The goal is to educate integrally with the charism of Saint John Baptist De La Salle to in the future they will be realize persons.
We live in lasallian community 3 Brothers, 4 Sisters Guadalupanas De La Salle, 3 lasallian volunteers and more than 60 children that together we are one big family. Our educational mission is intense, which requires love, patience and perseverance, but putting the work in the hands of God everything is given in addition. This experience is full of emotions, of blessings, of Christ. Every day confirmed that despite his fragile, children have immense strength in their hearts.
During the first year of service at Casa Hogar, I had the opportunity to be volunteer at the World Youth Day in Madrid 2011, where I realize how to live the christian faith in people from around the world. It was a unique experience, which I thank God for allowing me to live and most of all now share.
Volunteering requires effort, sacrifice and selflessness of people, places or things, but the love and work for Christ sets you free from attachment, which is a step that we must do all in our human development.
Now I'm about to finish my second year as a volunteer at Casa Hogar, with my faith in God to do his will, I feel a greater commitment as a young christian to undertake new projects, initiatives, work for these children and promote common good. I invite you to get down to work on the job you're doing, because whatever be our mission, we have to throw all the desire, give your heart and live with love.

Hola amigos, les escribo desde la bella ciudad de Saltillo, Coahuila, México, con la alegría de poder compartirles una enriquecedora experiencia que está transformando mi vida.
Imagínate vivir en un lugar fuera de lo común, mas bien totalmente extraordinario, en donde el tiempo vuele, donde puedas ver más de 60 sonrisas diarias que te alegren el día, un lugar donde tengas que explotar tu imaginación al máximo y que el mismo ambiente te obligue a divertirte y a la vez a aprender.
¿Sería maravilloso verdad? este magnífico lugar es la Casa Hogar de los Pequeños San José, donde me encuentro trabajando como voluntaria. Desde que llegué aquí en Agosto de 2010, descubrí que el mayor tesoro que posee este lugar son sus niños.
Casa Hogar es una institución lasallista que atiende a más de 60 niños de entre 6 y 18 años que pasan por fuertes problemas familiares. El objetivo es educarlos integralmente con el carisma de San Juan Bautista De La Salle para que en un futuro sean hombres de bien.
Vivimos en comunidad 3 hermanos lasallistas, 4 hermanas Guadalupanas De La Salle, 3 voluntarios lasallistas y más de 60 niños que unidos formamos una gran familia. Nuestra misión educadora es intensa por lo cual se necesita amor, paciencia y constancia, pero poniendo el trabajo en manos de Dios todo se da por añadidura. Esta experiencia está llena de emociones, de bendiciones, de Cristo. Cada día confirmo que los niños son los seres más nobles del planeta, ejemplos de amor puro y que a pesar de su fragilidad de niños tienen una fortaleza inmensa en sus corazones.
Al terminar el primer año de servicio en Casa Hogar, tuve la oportunidad de trabajar como voluntaria en la Jornada Mundial de la Juventud de Madrid 2011, en donde me di cuenta de cómo se vive la fe cristiana en personas de distintas partes del mundo. Fue una experiencia única, la cual agradezco a Dios por permitirme vivir y sobretodo ahora compartir.
Ser voluntario implica esfuerzo, sacrificio y desprendimiento tanto de personas, lugares o cosas, pero el amar y trabajar por Cristo te libera del apego, que es un paso que todos debemos dar en nuestro desarrollo humano.
Ahora estoy por concluir mi segundo año como voluntaria en la Casa Hogar, con mi fe puesta en Dios para que se haga su voluntad, siento un compromiso mayor como joven cristiana para emprender nuevos proyectos, iniciativas, trabajar a favor de estos niños y promover el bien común. Te invito a poner manos a la obra en el trabajo que estés realizando, porque sea cual sea nuestra misión, hay que echarle todas las ganas, entregar el corazón y vivir con amor.
